Managing your Products and Carrier Settings
In this article, we will guide agency admins through the process of creating products, empowering them to customize product offerings, manage commission levels, and streamline contract templates.
The latest feature from AgentSync Contracting empowers agency admins to create and customize products within the platform, providing a competitive advantage for agencies that function as both a carrier and an agency. While product creation is reserved for the Contracting Support team, Contracting now extends this capability to agency admins, enabling them to tailor agency-specific products to their unique requirements.
Understanding Product Types:
AgentSync Contracting distinguishes between two types of products: Products and Assigned Products:
-
Products - This feature provides agency admins with the ability to create & modify agency-owned products.
-
Assigned Products - This assigned products are established by Contracting Support during implementation and will include all of the carrier products that you currently work with. There are very limited editing capabilities on these products. However, read below to see how to manage these. If you do have updates that you need to make to existing or new products, please reach out to the Contracting Support team.
The 'Products' type is less commonly used by agency admins unless your organization functions as both a carrier & an agency.
Assigned Products:
Managing your assigned products:
- To view the product's details, you may hyperlink into the product name on the table.
- The Products details page is largely non-editable and shows information such as the states the product is available in, the line of business, annualization (if applicable) and commission levels.
- When viewing the product details that have a submission method of Carrier's portal, there are two editable fields: referral codes & notes. These fields are not required.
- Referral Codes: A string of text that is often used by Carriers and is used to identify the states, commission levels or other that the Producer is applying for within the Carrier's Portal. Simply enter the string of text ex: CO-12345 and on hit 'Enter' or 'Return' your keyboard to create the chip for the referral code. There is no limit on the number of referral codes that can be created on a given product.
- Notes: A way to add instructions that are specific to a Producer. By adding notes into this section you are creating a template that can be edited when that product is assigned to a Producer. The note can be up to 160 characters, and is encrypted.
When assigning this contract to a Producer, you will be able to choose from the referral codes entered on this page as well as have the note entered here automatically populate (with the ability to edit if needed). These will then appear for the Producer when viewing the instructions to submit within this carrier's portal.
Customizing Assigned Products Organization's details:
- By clicking on the Organization's (Carriers) name within your assigned products, you are able to update the Contracting settings specific to your Agency <> Carrier relationship
- While in the settings tab under Contracting Settings you are able to edit the Email Submission Settings. Oftentimes, there may be a generic email in this field but you are able to override this and input an email address for the Carrier that your agency uses to send email submissions to. If no email is available, you can leave it blank, as it is optional.
- Another setting you will notice is editable here is the Portal Submission Settings. If this Carrier chooses to receive any of their contract submissions via their own portal, you can enter that URL web address here. This url will appear as a link for the Producer when they are viewing instructions for this portal carrier that they can click on to be taken directly to the correct url.
If you do not see a carrier and/or product that should be listed but is not, please reach out to Contracting Support.
