Why a Producer my have 2 Licenses for the Same State/Lines of Authority?

Understand the reasons behind a producer holding two similar licenses, differing only by license number or expiration date.

This issue commonly occurs when a state updates their licensing system (like Kansas).  Usually, this transition requires the state to issue a new license for the producer (see below for an example).
